Located at 74 Main Street, the Shipyard Tavern sits at the end of the Essex Causeway Bridge, offering picturesque water-views of the Essex River. This historic site, once home to a bustling shipyard where wooden vessels and schooners were crafted for centuries, now serves as the backdrop to your dining experience.

We are open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. Whether you're stopping in after a day on the water or just chasing the sunset, we'll save you a seat.

The Shipyard Tavern is the fourth Synergy Restaurant Group chef-owned & operated location on the North Shore of Boston. Our other locations include the Blue Marlin Grille and the Boathouse Grille in Essex, MA, and the Choate Bridge Pub in Ipswich, MA.

Our first location, the Blue Marlin Grille, opened in 1998. Since then, we have been committed to serving exceptional food made from the finest, freshest ingredients, and creating an unforgettable dining experience for each and every guest.

Note: The parking is limited at The Shipyard Tavern but there is public parking next to the baseball field off of Shepard Memorial Drive behind the former police and fire station (be careful to read the signs as as some areas are reserved for residential parking) as well as street parking from our location to Ernie’s gas station!
